The legitimate requirement for your application for the euward Art Prize is an artistic practice in the spirit of Art Brut. This particularly targets artists who, due to a mental, psychological or emotional impairment or disability, frequently experience structural discrimination within the art world. The basis of any application is always an independent artistic stance, as well as an individual body of work of considerable scope. This should be evident from the application.

Applicants for the award should submit six selected examples of their own artistic work in an exclusively two-dimensional medium. These include, for example, paintings, drawings, graphic reproductions, photography, collage, montage, two-dimensional textile work, as well as digitally generated images that are the artist’s own work (not produced with AI).

Applications are accepted until October 10, 2026. The date of receipt of the postal application documents will be considered the deadline.

For the applications, you require the following

• Six colour-reproductions (prints on photo paper) in DIN A4 format or 21.0 x 29.7 cm of six selected two-dimensional works. It is important that the photos are of good quality. The originals can be of any size.

• "Image Directory" Form with the key details about the six selected works.

• "Personal Data" Form with the personal details of the artist, previous exhibitions as well as the data of a contact person or supporting institution.

• Signed "Consent form”

With the submission, you agree that your documents submitted remain in the euward archive. We do not return submission documents.

Following the preliminary selection procedure, a shortlist of around 20 artists will be announced on the website from October 28th, 2026.

Entrants who are not nominated will not be separately notified or contacted personally. No reason will be given for the exclusion from the final jury.
